Ubuntu LTS.
Today I got tricked by Ubuntu to upgrade to version 24.04 LTS and after rebooting the screen was black and despite debugging and trying different things for 5 hours nothing seemed to fixed so I just grabbed a USB I always keep ready with an Ubuntu installer and proceeded to perform a fresh install conserving only my data partition. Now everything works again and the final fix was easy, but it was quite annoying spending so much time just to end up reinstalling. I figure it has to do with the NVIDIA drivers, but I couldn't see anything in the logs so who knows. To top it off the iPod touch is also stuck in a frozen state where after powering on it just shows the Apple logo and it's not responsive to special key combinations that would allow me to turn on DFU. For now I'll just wait until it's fully charged and will debug it further another day. At least I have my ipod shuffle which works great and I even added some new music. Considering the Ubuntu incident I would like to go back to my Arch Linux setup I had a few years ago and setup everything again and make an ISO image of my system so that I can boot and install directly with all my programs and configurations.
Today I logged into Discord and talked with an old friend and commented briefly my situation with the breakup, he told me it's complicated and that he thinks that she supported me rather than liking me. I'm not sure. At the moment I must stay focused. Tomorrow I have to wake up early (6:30 AM) to run some errands and then I'll go to a local electronics store chain where I have a 60€ coupon I was gifted which will expire soon and want to spend. I know it's not that much money for both things but I'm interested in looking for an e-reader (although e-ink will be way out of my budget) and some USB sticks (128 or 256Gb of storage). Since I can probably afford the USB and not an eBook reader I will look around and see what else I can buy.
Maintaining the topic of tech and my (ex)girlfriend, which after all is what this website is about, I've noticed that since we broke up I am much less dependent on my smartphone, I don't need to check messages constantly, when other people text me I don't care if I make them wait 3 minutes or 7 hours, I'll just text back when I see the message and I'm in a mental state to do so, instead with my girlfriend we had to be constantly texting which made me loose so much time doing random things on my phone which could totally be avoided. I did my mandatory 3mins of exercise and logging off for the day :P
